Grand Junction Colorado Homes Real Estate Listings

Fun Stuff to do!

I am often asked by my friends and customers: What do you like about Grand Junction/ Palisade Colorado Area? I am usually at a loss for words! Everything, I want to say!

The surrounding scenery from every part of Mesa County is superb. MT. Garfield is a prominent and beautiful landmark through out Grand Junction. In the summer after a rain the colors are all shades of red, grey, buff and copper. In the winter snow forms cascades of white down its ridges. In fall at sunset with the Autumn light the mountain glows. In spring the subtle green burst forth and brings it to life. Mt Garfield is not the only outstanding feature of our area. We have the Grand Mesa National Forest presiding over our valley. The Mesa is the largest flat top mountain in the United Sates. Atop the Mesa we have The Powderhorn Ski Resort. We have recently had more snow that Vail , Aspen and Breckenridge. In the summer the Mesa boasts 10 to 15 degree cooler temps. Lots of Lakes on the Mesa too. Good Camping and fishing.

We are an agriculture center, regional medical center and shopping center for the smaller cites surrounding Mesa County. We have a The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, a preforming arts center, several music festival, farmers markets, a Wine Fest, Peach Fest and Honey Bee festival. We have the Grand Junction Art Center, Artist Space , the Blue Pig Gallery and the Twisted Brick all art galleries and teaching centers.

Naturally, with all the good produce to eat we have excellent restaurants. For "Fine Dining" in Grand Junction we have The Moulin Rouge, Il Bistro Italiano, Bin 707,The Winery and in Palisade The Red Rose Cafe and Inari's. We have many Breweries and Wineries, The Palisade Brewery,Kannah Creek Brewing Company,Rockslide Brew Pub. There are 25 Wineries in our mostly located in the Palisade area. My favorite Palisade Wineries are Garfield Estates, Plum Creek Cellars, Carlson Vineyards,Canyon Winds....actually there are so may I can't list them all.

Fruita which is 7 miles from Grand Junction is the biking center of the Western Slope. From Fruita you can ride miles of spectacular trails through the mountains by rivers and into deserts. Fruita holds many bike races during the season.

Palisade, Colorado is where my home and office resides. Palisade for me has the small advantage of being able to walk to the bank, grocery, art galleries, bars, restaurants, library, thrift store what ever with out getting in a car. If you need something a bigger city provides hop in a car and you are in Grand Junction in 15 minutes.

I can't forget about sports in our area. We have golf, rafting, rock climbing, sking, biking, tennis, car racing, bowling, hiking, rock collecting, wine drinking (maybe not a sport but part of the sporting life) and a spot for anyone....doing nothing but chilling.

Below are some links to place in the Grand Junction, Fruita and Palisade Colorado area. Have fun enjoy. When you come to the conclusinon I did and want to make this area home. Call me
